Ambassadors for Change: Accelerating the Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Africa.
THEME: “GCSAYN Ambassadors for Change as Enablers to
Enhancing the Achievement of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable
Development in Africa”.
Background:
The Climate Smart Agriculture Youth Network Global (GCSAYN) has continuously empowered youth to be proactive agents of change in achieving sustainable development. As the 2030 deadline for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) draws closer, the role of youth ambassadors becomes more vital than ever via the innovative GCSAYN Ambassadors for Change Program (GA4CP) flagship.
GCSAYN Ambassadors for Change, strategically positioned across the African Union and United Nations Member States, are uniquely poised to bridge local actions and global targets. Their involvement in grassroots mobilization, policy advocacy, climate action, and innovation contributes to a people-centered and inclusive development agenda. Yet, the challenges of coordination, visibility, and policy influence remain hurdles to overcome. This initiative aims to highlight and strengthen the role of Ambassadors as key enablers in delivering on the 2030 Agenda.
Objectives:
● To showcase the success stories of GCSAYN Ambassadors for Change in contributing to
localization and domestication of the Global Goals (17 SDGs) within their respective
communities by 2030.
● To strengthen and build capacity of Ambassadors to advocate, mobilize, and implement
innovative and climate-smart solutions.
● To amplify and foster collaboration between Ambassadors, stakeholders, development
partners, and governments.
● To develop a joint action plan to enhance the visibility, resource access, and impact of
Ambassadors’ local projects in alignment with Agenda 2030 within the GCSAYN approved
Centers of Excellence.
